Linux Systems Administrator with 1st and 2nd level support for Unix / Linux for a leading hedge fund in the City of London.

Any background will be considered so you don't need to come from a finance background.

You will possess the following skills;

1st/2nd line support of Unix/Linux technologies

Monitoring Linux based servers for hardware and software failures

Day-to-day maintenance of servers, including performing backups, software installations and upgrades

Working with Open Source applications like Nagios and MySQL, Smokeping, radius and MRTG, to build enterprise-level systems.

At least 3 years work experience in Linux/Unix environment

Unix skills, including LDAP, DNS (bind), NFS, rysnc and iptables

vmstat, top, uname, emacs/vi

Knowledge of python.

Experience working in a data center, including experience racking and stacking servers, wiring and making patch cables.
